Fusion Music

As part of the Chesterfield Cultural Education Partnership, Kakou CIC created an accessible and inclusive virtual community music group, open to everyone of all abilities – to sing, make music and perform together.

The mission of Fusion Music was to encourage and support singing and music making for people of all ages and experience so that they could experience the well-being benefits that performing provides and reduce isolation.

The ensemble consisted of singers, musicians, percussionists and BSL Sign-singers, who over the course of six weeks created their own arrangement of “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free” made famous by Nina Simone.

Those who felt comfortable, were encouraged to video or record their part and we put together a video of the ensemble.
